best way to get rid of acne?

What is the best way to get rid of acne? Naturally, that's how!

by Rees Sklear

The best way to get rid of acne is of course the natural way (the natural way is almost always the best one). While your dermatologist likely would give you medicated ointment or cream and antibiotics to take and your pharmacist would suggest you use a cream containing benzoyl peroxide - and these are both fine to do, at least on the short term, acne isn't a short term problem. Acne can last for years, while these treatments are almost certain to cause problems if taken over an extended period.

Benzoyl peroxide has been linked to an increased risk of skin cancer. Teenagers don't usually take the long view, focusing instead on the problem at hand; these products may not be the best choice.

No one would argue that taking antibiotics over a long period of time is a good thing. This leads to the development of resistant strains of bacteria; then you may be unable to find anything to help you when you really need antibiotics. And of course, the word antibiotic is Latin for "against life" - a little scary when you think about it, huh? You are best served by avoiding antibiotics except when you truly need them. So how do you get rid of acne? Why not instead try the natural way to get rid of acne?

First, attack the pimples. Keep your face clean but don't scrub. Scrubbing aggravates outbreaks and makes them worse. Wash with a mild soap, rinse thoroughly, pat dry and then apply the juice of a fresh lemon with a cotton ball. Allow the juice to dry and rinse it off with cool water. Follow the same procedure at night but apply a light coat of calamine lotion to the skin before you go to bed.

Diet is the next step - avoid fried foods and anything with processed sugars, white flour and milk. Some are shocked at the idea of cutting milk from the diet. However, teenage breakouts seem to coincide as the amount of milk they drink increases. While milk provided nutrition, it also sometimes contains hormones and can elevate blood sugar. The hormones are the biggest problem - they are often present in the feed of commercial dairy cows; and hormonal imbalance causes acne, so cut out milk for now.

Throw away your potatoes and all underground tubers. These are also high in sugar and make your blood sugar swing out of control. The swing increases sebum production, a cause of acne. Bananas are too high also. Keep seafood away from the table, add beef, and chicken instead. Make sure you know what they ate. Buy from a reputable butcher that gets his meat from farmers that don't use hormone filled feed.Drink or take Aloe Vera to clean up from the inside out
It's a simple diet, but one which is very effective in eliminating acne.

Use vegetables which grow above rather than below ground and eat them raw as much as possible. Fresh fruit other than bananas may be eaten liberally. Beef and chicken are fine and nuts make excellent nuts - use nuts straight form the shell, you want unroasted, unsalted nuts. Get rid of caffeine laden drinks, drink water and get exercise instead. Follow the natural methods given here and you'll be rid of acne in no time.
